week. 8-year-old martin richard, 29-year-old krystle campbell, lu lingze, age 23. 58 remain in the hospital, three in critical condition. many, of course, lost their limbs. last night the m.i.t. officer, sean collier, just 26 years old, he was killed. 15 other boston and massachusetts policemen who were injured in last night's gun battle. a deadly, deadly, awful toll. tonight the satisfaction for the people in that area and for boston and for america, the bomber in custody and alive at the moment. we don't know the extent of his injuries. we'll try to find out more. fran townsend, i believe you're with us now. national security correspondent for cnn. in terms of the fact that this has happened within four days, fran, this has to be considered a big success for the fbi. >> reporter: absolutely. it's a tremendous success. and i think what you heard at that press conference is them saying it was actually -- it's a team success. you really -- you needed the watertown police and the boston police, no one agency could have done it on their own. but the fbi gets tremendous credit.
